Just pootling about down here. Japanese and Korean makes are really dominant down here. I'm curreently renting my second i30. Off to Brisbane tomorrow.

I keep seeing lots and lots of Xtrails here. Will be in Perth in a few days and will see what's popular there. Unleaded about oz dollars 1.40 a litre.

Son and family living in the centre of Brisbane, they run a new Sportage, i believe with a V6 petrol engine but don't hold me to that.

With Holden (GM), Ford and Toyota ceasing to manufacture cars in Australia, the country is totally reliant on imports.

Had some great beer over here. Cheap petrol....paradise!

Seeing beer and petrol juxtaposed remonds me of Charringtons when I was at Cambridge 50 years ago. They sold beer and oil, and the taste of the beer suggested that both came in the same tankers.

You have just missed the last of the nice summer weather here in Perth. Down to 20'C and a few light showers. Can't complain - we have had 7 months of glorious sunshine and temps in the 30s and 40s.

Got a Toyota Camry. .it had 34km on the clock, seems I'm the very first renter. Only disappointing thing is that it has no Satnav, and won't accept my Android Auto. The previous i30 happily used Android Auto to do the navigation. Other than that happy days.

It's about fifteen years since I visited a friend in Brisbane. He and the family were big Ford fans - I enjoyed their breathed on 4 litre model. Also had a Japanese 4x4 (LR products regarded as a joke) and a campervan but I have forgotten the makes now. Have a feeling he had a Hyundai now.
