Price difference between 50k and 90k miles? - jonnyjjbean

Looking at 2 cars, both Mazda 6 TS2 petrol.

Car 1 - 80k - 2009 - £5000

Car 2 - 50k - 2010 - £6500

Is it worth the extra 1.5k for that mile difference?

Probably not, as neither car is in the flush of youth, but one is a year younger. The mileages are about average, or less for the newer car. Your choice will depend on all the other variables - servicing history, number of owners, general condition, whether you like the colour, etc. Do all the easy things like checking the MoT history online to find out more.

The price difference may reflect how long each one has been with its trader, who may have dropped the price to move it on - it's a sluggish time of year.

Condition and history are far more important than 40,000 miles.

Agree...I've bought many cars over the years...and never yet bought one simply because it had lower miles.

History/Conditon are paramount and tell much you much more about a vehicle.
