Surprise - Kindness is still alive - oldroverboy.

My Brother in law who is 83 was driving to a hospital appointment this morning and suffered a low speed blow out, stopped safely, called RAC and when explaining, they sent a Taxi for him to get him to the hospital on time and arranged to meet him and recovered him to a tyre fitters afterwards. While waiting, 2 other people offered to take him as well.

10 out of 10 for customer service.

Whilst it's very nice to hear that I'd not say it's a surprise - depsite what you read/hear/see in the news the majority of people are kind and helpful.

Doing a good deed for someone, or just offering to help, makes you feel better in general. We should all do it more often.

I'm sure many of us on this forum would stop to help someone in need. I myself have on a few occasions changed someone's spare wheel or given them a jump start as I am someone who believes in treating people how I I would like people to treat me.

Surprise - Kindness is still alive - argybargy

Whilst coming out of our local cinema yesterday, having been persuaded by my wife to spend much of yesterday afternoon watching a "girlie" film, I noticed a chap in a wheelchair sitting behind his stationary car with the hatch up. Didn't think anything of it, until another feller called out to him "do you need any help?", whereupon the chap in the chair gratefully answered in the affirmative.

On glancing over again it appeared that he had some sort of device for stowing the chair in the boot and was struggling to work the mechanism. I felt rather sheepish at not having realised he needed help, and fortunately, I think most people you come across would feel the same, if like me, they hadn't got there first.

Another good deed missed.

I'm sure that's true, although many of us probably let our very sensible suspicion that there are many con artists around get in the way of us being as public spirited as we would wish. Assuming everybody deserves your help is a sure way to be taken for a ride. Sad.
