I see the same references used by contributors of the forum, such as SWMBO etc .

But what does MOSCOW stand for and do you know any other amusing synonyms ?

Acronyms, actually!

SWMBO is the only one I use on here - others will no doubt contribute.

Fortunately we don't need to use the ones that servicemen serving overseas used when we were at war - sometimes to evade the censors:

SWALK - Sealed With A Loving Kiss

ITALY - I Trust And Love You

BURMA - Be Undressed Ready, My Angel

NORWICH - (K)Nickers Off Ready When I Come Home

NFN - normal for norfolk (now actually a programme on BBC Radio Norfolk)

FORD - fix or repair daily -or - found on road dead

DACIA - Daca Ai Cap, Iei Altceva (Romanian - [if you have a head - get another] ( If you're smart buy something else)

JAGUAR - just another gearbox under annual repair

JEEP - just expect excessive problems
