KIA Picanto - Small Auto Car Follow Up - 096

Hi,

Some of you may have seen my previous post about my relative looking for a small auto car.

They are keen on viewing a Kia Picanto 2006 70,000K mls Auto. Are these any good in Auto guise, anything to be wary of? How abouts a similar age Hyundai Getz?

Thanks.

You mentioned they had a budget of up to £3k. Tell them to spend as much of it as possible and buy a very low mileage car instead of one that's done 70k which will most likely have been done in stop start city driving which is hard on cars.

I recently sold a perfect wee 11plate Picanto 1.0 with 11,000 miles and full history to an old customer for £3,000. An auto won't be any dearer but a bit harder to find so keep looking. Buy the best you can afford up front. It'll save money in the long run.

They're simple, reliable wee cars with little to worry about and a smooth autobox but were cheap cars built to a budget so I wouldn't rush to buy a high miler.

The MK1 Toyota Yaris Auto is in a differnt league. Picked up a 2000 CDI with 60K for £2100 and it has been perfect.

HJ's best car of that era with a torque converter no cambelt and Japanese build quality its a hard act to follow.
