I'd have the newer one. It's got average miles. That's low for a 2009, lots of short journeys? equals high engine wear rate (lots of exhaust rot too) and if it hasn't been garaged it's been stood out in the rain without being driven to dry it off.

Me too, but servcie history would play a big factor in my choosing. I've lost count at the number of low mileage cars I've seen which have been serviced based on mileage and not time - one I saw only had one service in five years because it had only done 20,000 miles.

And is it petrol or diesel?

I tend to agree with the above.

If it has oil changes at the right time with the right oil and not been abused a modern engine should last for well over a hundred thousand or even two . Short runs with a cold engine are not good.
