Citroen C3 1.4 HDI - Good Year Efficencegrip Performance on Citroen C3 - Krell

Hi there.. Time to buy a new set of summer tires for my Citroen C3 1.4 HDi (2011).

Until now i had Bridgestone Turanza ER300 (which came with the car).

Citroen have soft suspension and with this tires i have very bad handling. When i turn at speed, and there is potholes whole rear end become totaly unstable (waving the whole car, and rear end wawing and jumping somehow), few times very scary.

My winter tires are Michelin Alpin A4, and with this tires it's muuuuch better, there is similar feeling but in totaly conotrolled way.

I almost decided on GoodYear EfficencyGrip Performance, but i read complains that sidewalls are very soft. So what kind of tires i need to avoid problems i had with Bridgestone? Do i need a tires with soft sidewall or i must looking for stiff sidewall tires?

Is this Good Year Efficency Grip Performance ok tire for my Citroen, or i should look something else to improve cornering and stability? The tire size im purchasing is 185/65/15

Thanks a lot

As with many cars these days, good tyres are a must. Winter tyres are normally more bouncy than summer ones, so i am confused by that.

If Michelins winter tyres are good then maybe use michelin summer tyre maybe the best option.

I'd question whether or not the original tyres were over-inflated, if they were so 'bouncy'.

No. I use the same tire pressure on both.. On Michelin Alpin A4 and on Summer Bridgestone ER300. On Michelin as i said no problems, Bridgestone very jumpy-bumpy-harsh.

Only option from Michelin for my size are EnergySaver+. I wanted something better, so that's how i start thinking Good Year Efficencty Performance (on all tests those are better then Michelin).

Im just worried becouse of soft sidewalls should be fine with C3 or i'll get even weaker stability then before. I cant find out what kind of sidewalls Michelin Alpin A4 have.. if they are soft that mean thats ok with my car.. If they are stif, then i need a stiff sidewalls tires

I would suggest that when a road is potholed it would be a good idea to slow down for bends, regardless of which tyres you have.

If you really do like cornering fast, you need a car that handles better.

The problem is that i dont drive that fast..

Anyway, what do u think it's perfect tire for this C3

1. GoodYear EfficenceGrip Performance

2. Continental CPC5

3. Dunlop Sport Blue Response

We've had GY EfficientGrip all round on my wife's C1 for about 6 months now.

We put a new pair on the rear of my son's Polo

My Dad's BMW 1 series came with them from new.

We're very happy with them. After the last load of rain we can vouch for their ability to shift water!

I just bought those tires. First impression that they are soft, comfortable and a lot of grip.

Let's hope this first positive impressions would be long term :)
