Bmw 3 series 320i Modern - Bmw window won't close - JDP
Passenger window opened partly then stopped and would not shut. Opened it fully and still would not shut. Had to drive 130 miles home with window wide open! A neighbour who is a mechanic said they can sometimes be 'reset' by holding the button up/down for a while. He tried this and suddenly the window closed. He wasn't certain he had fixed it so l haven't dared try it since. Any ideas...?

What age and model 320 do you have.?Did you try closing it from the passenger door switch?

It's a 2014 Modern model. The original opening/closing was done from the passenger door switch. Then tried the drivers door switch plus tried comfort closing with the key fob...still no joy.

Might I suggest you call BMW assist ? It's free for 3 years from new, and can be contacted directly through the car systems. Just go into the idrive menu.

It's a 2014 Modern model.

So surely under warranty? Now it's closed, don't open it again and leave diagnosis to your dealer. Don't mention to them that someone else "fiddled" with it - just say you kept trying and it eventually closed!
