Abuse of BB is rampant - I recall a few years back a spate of BB thefts from legimate users as they fetch, or fetched, £1,000 on the black market.

did she get a criminal record? When my MIL died 2 years ago we ceased using her blue badge, when using the badge it's very annoying when those without the badges use the designated parking bays

The report indicates that she did "Davis ... admitted unlawfully using a disabled person's badge in relation to the parking of a vehicle"

We could with full time enforcment Officers in Belfast centre, abuse is rampent, from personal observation, i.e young women carrying large bags of inessential shopping(from the logos on the bags) long distances, getting into cars and driving away, only after giving me a triade of abuse for pointedly looking at the displayed badge and then them.

I am aware they might, just might, be collecting an urgent perscription for their dead Grandmother btw.

Cept over here such perscriptions are usually delivered by the Chemists.

cheers

The problem is, people like her make it difficult for people who actually need blue badges.

I saw one the other day on TV, she said her relative was somewhere and she was just coming back for the car but, the parking warden had actually spoke to the badge holder who was at home miles away and had not been out that day.

Funny how everytime these people get caught, its the first time they have ever done it?

That doesn't qualify anywhere, regardless of urgency. It's a fundamental requirement that the disabled person is present, either when arriving or when leaving.

criminal record has far reaching effect - eg employment & travel (eg USA Visa waiver scheme may not be used if traveller has a criminal record) etc .... it a lot more serious than 35 in a 30 zone.
