hi all. need to pick your brains on this one. on all mrk4 astra i thought that when you start the engine you see the water returning to the expansion bottle on idle, well i had a rad leak, replaced rad, then replaced thermostat as the little plastic elbow on the pipe to the expansion bottle from here had snapped! crap plastic design! well replaced thermostat and housing as comes complete, well before i changed the thermostat/housing which is the same when i started car from cold you see water circulating back into the expansion bottle, well put new thermostat etc on and now only circulates the water when at norm temp or when you are at high revs! nothing has really changed, our other astra a 2002 sxi has water circulating back to expansion bottle from cold from turning the key as mine used to do until i done the above!..., can anyone advise if this is normal what is happening on my astra please? i have traveled many miles with my car since and does not overheat and heater is nice and hot and has no air blocks etc! just curious to know which is right or wrong please? many thanks to all and sorry for the essay!...............
does anyone know is the above normal or have i got a stuck opne thermostat on my other astra as it circulates the water constantly back to exp bottle even at cold when you start the car.
