Left/Right Adjustable Headlights - Bonz

Since I drive regularly in Europe, I am interested to know which current cars in the MPV/SUV sector have adjustable left/right headlights.

Any help appreciated

My 2014 Kia Ceed manual says its headlight does not require any adjustment or reflector while driving in EU as it is designed in a way not to dazzle drivers on opposite side of the road.

I have not taken it outside UK yet though.

Somewhere on here is a useful list of cars with flat beam headlights and cars that have the built- in capability to adjust the headlamps for driving on the right - but I'm blowed if I can find it!

Once upon a time some BMWs had a switch behind the headlights to alter the dip from left to right but then along came Xenons and things got a bit more difficult.

My 2010 F10 BMW 520d M Sport had Xenons and they were adjustable but it required one to scramble under the front wheelarches, remove an access panel and fiddle about until your fingertips just located the switch which altered the beam. I used to curse having to do it but the BMW dealer told me they'd have charged £200 a throw to do it so at least I felt better for the effort.

Now I have a 2015 BMW X3 M Sport with Xenons and, lo and behold, there's a switch on the iDrive to convert the beam to dip left when on the 'continent'. I used it for the first time and extensively in France last week and checked that it did dip the beam to the right and not just flatline it. So that's at least one SUV with the facility and I'd be surprised if this was the only model of BMW to enable this nowadays.

Most salesmen haven't got a clue about the adjustablity of headlamp beams (mine didn't when I bought the X3) and will ramble on about flatlining etc. That's OK if your intended purchase doesn't have Xenons because there'll be a beam height control on the dash but vehicles with Xenons, in my experience, lack this facility because most, if not all, automatically set their level and there is no obvious facility to switch the dip direction.

Handbooks are often pretty quiet on the subject too.
