DVLA Roadside Equipment - ExNHS

This afternoon there was a silver estate car with DVLA script parked on the N-bound Blandford bypass, with flashing amber lights, with cones around, and some sort of equipment on a tripod at the back of the car pointing back.

There were no police, or vehicles, beyond, ready to stop anybody.

This was not like the usual speed cameras poking out of a hole in a back window of a van parked in a stupid place, or out of a sliding side door.

Anybody got any idea what they were up to?

ANPR vehicle tax check possibly.

I have seen a few DVSA marked vehicles, the new name for VOSA, out to spot dodgy vans and lorries, but not DVLA.

Before I retired as an old bill, I had blues and twoes on my owm car.

Last year, my son and friends did a charity bike ride to Snowdon and back. We used a strobe amber light on the support van - especially useful on local roads.

I carry this strobe light in my car - useful for breakdowns on the hard shoulder, etc.
