Kia Ceed 1.4 1 5dr Petrol 2011 - dashboard change, will mileage reset? - vectra_owner

Saw a 2011 Kia Ceed advertised on Autotrader. The Car is in good condition, but part of the dashboard is slightly protruding up just where the demisting blower is. The seller is getting this changed under warranty.

However, it is not very clear to me if changing the dashboard will reset the mileage counter?

The car has done around 50k miles, but I feel this will go down to 0 after the dash is changed and the car wil be difficult to sell later.

Does anyone have any similar experience?

Pretty sure mileage is "stored" in the ECU which is an expensive bit of kit and hence highly unlikely to be replaced as part of a dash swap.

Why is the dash protruding? It suggests to me a repair has been carried out badly.

Replace under Kia warranty? I doubt it covers trim after 5 years of abuse.

Suggest you look elsewhere and consider a 1600 instead.
