Pepipoo site - Benet

Has anyone used the Pepipoo site recently? Just when I want it (having been 'mugged' by a council for stopping on a bus stop for 10 seconds!) I am finding all the Pepipoo forums are closed or unobtainable. All you get is a message 'IPS Driver Error.' It has been like this since Saturday.

It says, "IPS Driver Error

There appears to be an error with the database."

It's not just you - I assume that is a problem with the site.

A footnote: if you did stop for even a few seconds at a bus stop, and the ticket is a council one, you will find this a tough one to fight and may have to rely on finding a technicality to get out of it, though it may be worth appealing for leniency.

'finding a technicality'... Some of the research I have managed to do says that the charge notice should state (1) the make & model of the car, (2) the badge number of the officer who saw me commit the 'offence', and (3) include a verbal description of where the bus stop was, eg. 'opposite number 15'. All these pieces of info are missing, though they have supplied a pic of my car. Could these omissions help me?

Sorry but you should not stop in a bus stop, the name gives you a clue, they are for busses. You have no defense.

yes and I would be perfectly OK to admit I was in the wrong if the fine was not so ludicrously out of proportion. Do you really think £110 is fair?

The fine is to prevent drivers doing that, fair is not the point,I got fined for driving in a bus lane for just a few yards, but I knew I was in the wrong and paid up, not moaned about it!

Stopping in a bus stop is a minor infraction. £110 is way over the top. Its a nice earner for the council though.

And since when were buses/bus lanes/bus stops such sacred ground?

Pepipoo site - TedCrilly

If it wasnt so high there would be no deterrent. And if you are obstructing a stop what happens when a bus comes along and needs to stop there? Wait untill you move and in the meantime cause another obstruction? Drive off leaving the passengers? Stop somewhere else that may be ilegal for the bus?

More than a bit inconsiderate if you ask me.
