Hyundai Coupe - Scraped my Coupe, looking for info - Mr Tuscan
Hi, ne to the forums so hello everyone and happy Christmas .

Last night I managed to scraped the wheel arch on the coupe getting it into the garage.

Now I've had experience of the local Chipsaway guy and he is pretty poor and does not even leave his work polished up let alone blend correctly , my point being they are not an option for me.

Guess I'm looking to understand how much work is involved and whether this is a body shop job to get it repaired?

Their is not end to the arch just what seems like laquer loss and scrapes to the white undercoat No metal is exposed.

I'm going to try and post a picture here..

Regards Simon

My dad did similar just before Christmas, rear wheel arch scrape. His local body shop have quoted £100 plus VAT to bring it back to new. It will be a sand back, fill if required, base coat and top coats. He's used them before and they do an excellent job.

I paid similar at my local bodyshop for a bumper scrape someone decide to leave on my car.

Chips away are OK for smaller stuff, but on larger jobs being able to get the car inside with heat is a better option.

+1

I paid £150 incl VAT for a 2-coat metallic repair on a scuffed plastic bumper corner - a mobile would have been £125 but compromised by the weather and any dust/debris in the air.

Agreed, £100 sounds about right for a single panel with that sort of scrape, would be interesting to see how much higher, if any, the larger bodyshops with managers, receptionists, office carpets, company/courtesy cars and 'free' machine coffee would quote.
