renault clio 2002 - should i buy car with replaced timing belt/gasket - Fleabie36

My corsa b broke down and i have been told it's going to cost too much for what the car is worth because head gasket is flooded and gone. I am desperate for a car and have found a renault clio 2002, it has had a snapped timing belt and head gasket replaced. Is it still worth purchasing, any help would be gratefully received.

Providing it has been properly repaired, it should be as good as any other 10 year old renault. A toyota yaris or mazda 2 would probably be a better bet, in my opinion.

Unless this is a non-interference engine, the valves will have been bent, and probably guides and seals-and should have been replaced.
