Hi
Another question, sorry.
Is there a website that tells you which insurance group a particular car is in? The only information I can find is on the manufacturers specifications so can't find any for older cars, also its a bit griefy having to hunt around, cause I'm a lazy cow.
Thanks

Try a copy of Parkers Guide. Give Insurance groups for all the car listed.

Thanks. Do they have a website or do I actually have to go out and buy one? Not sure I could cope with that!!!

Be aware though that some companies - Direct Line for instance - use their own unique insurance group ratings. Whereas most companies operate with a groups rating of 1 to 20, DL use a rating of 1 to 100. Depending on performance, theftability, etc.

Go to the Association of British Insurers web site :
www.abi.org.uk/carinsurance/download.asp
and download the file named group.exe. Run this program and it will extract a text file named group.dat. This contains the official group for all cars sold in the UK since the 1930s. Or just click on search to find the group for a specific make/model.
Any problems with this, please shout.
