Kia Ceed - minor damage - exnomad

A kind person left a crease in a rear door when I was parked in a town centre car park and left before I returned

The damage is not serious and only maginally unsightly.

Without being able to identify the other driver, I would lose part of my no claims bonus, pay my excess and probably incurr even higher premiums.

I do not intend selling the car in the forseeable future, is it best to accept the dent and drive on.

Rotten luck.

I wouldn't advise trying to pursue the culprit-I think it'll be a frustrating and fruitless exercise. You don't to become one of those people who spend a disproportionate amount of time on a problem on the basis that 'it's not about the money, it's about the principle'.

If the damage is minor, a bodyshop may be able to repair it inexpensively. Get it fixed though, otherwise it'll spoil your day every time you look at it. Dishonourable drivers usually gettheir just desserts eventually!!

Get a mobile dent man to come and see, paint unbroken it should be possible - typically £50 a panel+VAT
