It does not say how many worldwide but suggests that one worldwide reason is that there are now so many components shared with so many brands and models, so, if one is wrong on one of them, it may well affect many more in many countries.

They should come with a warning on the package, "Cars can seriously damage your health". To stretch the analogy with fag promotion restrictions further, advertising of cars should be banned and maybe brand names should be concealed. Then we need a film from Michael Moore showing how governments benefit from this deadly industry, via taxes.

I wonder what the recall figures are for commercial vehicles?
