Engine revs surge, especially when cold. Car lurches when pulling away, sometimes to the point of stalling. Revs sometimes stay on when slowing down. Have had diagnostic & shows "Throttle position improbable" Dealer says it could be any of 3 components. Throttle position sensor, wiring loom or Air flow meter. Their solution, replace parts systematically, at my expense, until they find the fault! Anyone any experience or ideas pelase?
Also when driving normally the engine management light has flashed on & the engine stopped momentarily before returning to normal. No fault logged on computer & this has happened twice.

If the problem is reasonable predictable and repeatable can they drive the car and monitor live data?
