While the light is on, the ABS system is inoperative.
Only DIY thing you can really do is to remove the wheels and inspect the sensors and hubs to see if there is any build up of crud on them, that's providing of course they're not built into the hub assembly.
Failing that, then it's a trip to the garage for a fault code readout.
