I have a 2004 Ford C-Max 1.6 Ghia (Petrol) owned since new.
The car is still under warranty and I had noticed a steering creak when pulling away very slowly and turning steering either left or right. The creak comes from the direction of the nearside wheel and can be quite clearly heard inside the car.
I asked my local dealer to investigate at the last service and they advised me that the problem is not covered under the warranty.
The problem will only be recitified with a new strut at a cost of £300.
Why is this problem not covered under the warranty?
And do I really need to replace the whole strut as advised?
Any help gratefully appreciated
