Why would you want to do this?

Insurance will be a nightmare as it will be classed as a modified car.

Buy a car with the engine fitted as you desire. Cheaper in the long run. Believe me, I know all about engine transplants etc......

I *think* it might because the 1.1 engine is u/s. I saw the original subject header before it was edited.

The driveshafts are different on bigger modles. So are the brakes. If you have 3 stud wheels, you will need to replace them with 4 stud wheels and hubs.

So you would be cheaper - and MUCH safer - buying a bigger engined car.. rather than upgrade bit by bit...

Not to mention the suspension, the cooling, the new ECU, the wiring etc...

You do realise if you change to a bigger engine you will need a new ECU? And exhaust?

And possibly gearbox mountings, and clutch?

Thanks for all the comments.
Was looking at this option as my engine is on its way out! and am fed up with the 4 speed box.
might just look around for a replacement 1.0 litre when it does die!!

many thanks
