Exhaust 'bungees' - former farmer
I replaced the exhaust system completely on my daughter's Punto about a year ago at one of the nationwide exhaust repair outfits. Something that surprised me was that the rubber bungees were NOT renewed.

When I found one of them needed replacing, I was able to get the replacement item for the princely sum of £1.58 from a local motor factor. I shall definitely make sure next time I get an exhaust replaced, I would insist on the bungees being renewed at the same time.

Very few cars share the same "bungees" so the nationwide exhaust centres would have to carry huge stocks. You could insist on having them replaced if you had the exhaust replaced at the dealers, but it would cost you a bit more than £1.58 and the hassle of fitting.
