Performance Air Filters - Johnny20
Would a permormance air filter (K&N etc.) make a noticable difference to a standard Diesel engine's performance??

Or is it best to just stick with the one the manufacturer puts in at a service?

Thanks.

I get the impression the performance of this Corrolla diesel you drive is pretty poor. I wouldn't know, however I was planning on asking a similar question about my 309! I'd like to get performance leads and air filter but I'm guessing now its too late given I have a damned fixed penalty to pay.

It's got the pull of a 2.0litre engine when i need it, and my dad has told me to keep the revs down to get the power out of it (I really didn't know that about diesels) and it seems to be working - i was revving it too high and not getting anywhere. Saves on fuel bills too!
It never brakes down so i've decided to keep it for a bit longer.....

No;all diesels take in more air than they need for combustion. On a std. engine with no other changes all a performance air cleaner will do is make more noise.
