Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.6 Engine warning light on!

02 1.6 Engine warning light on! - harryhammer
Focus 1.6 Zetec (51/02)
The engine warning light has come on. SWMBO is driving it at the moment and hasn't reported any loss of power or hesitation etc.
Any ideas what this may be down to or is it a needle in a haystack and ford dealer visit?

Could be 1 of 100+ things. Needs the fault code(s) reading out - doesn't necessarily have to be a Ford dealer.

I ended up buying a cheap OBD-II reader off ebay. It must have been ~2 years ago and was < £30 UKP. Definately money well spent - even though have only used a few times.
