10p per minute - AF
After wondering about the real world effect of speed on cost, for the commute I make (40 miles each way of mixed motorway, A roads, B roads, C roads and only a minor amount of town driving) I decided to work out the actual figures.

So over the last few weeks of trying driving at 'normal' speeds, driving without exceeding the speed limit, driving at the speed limit -10% (asbestos suit on), obviously taking account of traffic conditions, etc.

The end result was that each minute added to the total journey time saved 10p on the total fuel cost for that journey.
