1999 1.8 petrol engine cooling fan? - jp147
I have noticed the engine cooling fan on my car has been on a couple of times lately whereas I don't normally hear it (I am a bit paranoid about my car). Is this a sign of impending radiator/water pump problems ? The coolant level is correct but I have noticed that when I check the coolant reservoir when the car has sat overnight, that there are "bubbles" on the inside surface of the top of the reservoir (not in the coolant) which I assume is just condensation. It this normal ?

What does the temp guage show? If it is staying in the middle I wouldnt worry.
Another possibility ( and I apologise if you already checked this) is the aircon fan ie: the fan runs when the aircon is on, or you set the air to demist.

Just to add, the bubbles in the expansion bottle are just condensation and is very common.
