I have a Golf 1.6 automatic. Engine code BFQ. With the car stationary and engime ticking over i get crankcase fumes sucked in through the heater intake.I've found a couple of split breather pipes and sealed them up with gaffer tape and plastic clips. Are there any other breather pipes tucked away somewhere that i haven't yet found. Thanks in anticipation.

you need to replace the breather pipes, they do get hot so any adhesive or for that matter the gaffer tape might get hot and start to leach in to the system via the air intake recirculation , not good for the carb
