03 1.7ctdi - Turbo problems - Lisa D
I have a 2003 ctdi civic, turbo had to be replaced in 2006 but honda had extended the warranty and so replaced it for free. The same problem seems to have returned, loses power going up hills, engine malfunction light comes on but only stays on for about one day and never long enough to get it onto the computer! Has this happened to anybody else????

this is a very common with the 1.7 and unfortunately there isnt much you can do other than keep changing the turbo. The engine was built by isuzu and honda are very aware of the problem, hence the warranty on the turbos being extended. I once had a case where I replaced a turbo 5 times on a police civic.
