1999 TDi - clock & stereo resetting in the morning - Tony Soprano
VW Golf Mk3 TDi 1996-Recently when I turn the ignition on in the mornings,I noticed that the digital clock keeps resetting itself to 0:00,and the radio stations have all been lost,also its often hard to start on cold mornings and a couple of times there isnt enough power to start it and I have to use booster.Im guessing that its probably the battery thats dying,(its at least 6-7 years old)but before I shell out £50+ for a new one,is there anything else that could be causing this problem?

Sounds like classic battery expired time.But get system and charge rate checked.hth
