Audi A4 immobiliser - turner
The immobiliser on my 2006 diesel A4 occasionally operates (with both keys) when trying to start the car; I have not so far been able to identify any particular recurring circumstances which might help to explain the fault. So far the problem has disappeared after several attempts and the inconvenience has been minor, but I am concerned that the fault may become more serious.

Needless to say this never happens when I take the car to an Audi garage and they say they have never come across a similar fault. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has experienced this problem and/or has any ideas.

common fault for the immobiliser antenna loop to fail - but unusual on such a new car.
Its around the ignition switch and picks up the signal from the chip in the key.

do you have more than one car key on the keyring - some people say that they can interfere - Ive not seen it myself but it sounds quite feasible.
