i'm having a problem with a 1996 1.0 micra thats crunching reverse and its hard to engage 1st. The clutch isn't slipping, i know that much. thanks

is the clutch biting at the bottom of pedal ? do the gears engage smmothly with engine not running?
if so, then the clutch cable needs adjusting, a common fault that even seems to be missed at services, its below the battery is the cable , there is a locknut which a 10 mm spanner will undo next to a wheel type nut that should move with your fingers, wind the nut to tighten the cable, just a few turns [3-5] then try the gears again, adjust until the clutch pedal bites halfway, dont forget to retighten locknut, you may also need to "hold" the cable with some grips or pliers while adjusting.
hopefully thats your problem, but micra clutches are one of the cheapest.

i had forgot to mention that the bitting point was really low haha, thanks. adjusting the cable was gonna be my next move.
