Rover 75 - hammer

I have a Rover 75 that when started from cold and the accelerator is depressed there is a knocking noise which seems to come from No 4 cylinder as the engine warms up and the accelerator is depressed the noise lessens the noise disapears when the engine is at normal running temp what do you think the problem could be

It sounds awfully like little end knock if it is do not worry to much.If it is coming from the head then valves ,camshaft bearing.You need a mechanic to listen to it he will pick little end knock out straight away.
Little ends are the bearing which hold the piston to the conrod
