Not sure of the exact science, but the clickable link gets redirected from this site (portalled), and in doing so can hamper things here. If a lot of people were to click on the link at the same time (it has previously happened with a popular link) then it has a noticable effect on the servers.

Thats why I was asking ND - I can understand the possible problem of the link holding a 'connection' open, but the actual data appears to go direct from the destination site, to the user and not via HJ's server. Ah well, never mind.
