Ford Tourneo Connect - tyro
Ford have a vehicle called the Ford Tourneo Connect.

As far as I can see, it is in a combi, like the Citroen Berlingo Multispace or a Fiat Doblo - possibly a bit larger. (Price is certainly higher). Yet while the Citroen and the Fiat are classed as cars, the Ford Tourneo Connect is classed as a commercial vehicle.

Any idea why that is?

And any idea how it compares with the Berlingo to drive and to have as one's main car?

Looks a bit bigger; probably nearer the Peugeot Expert than the Partner/Berlingo. The expert was at one time available as a car and both it and it's Citroen/Fait clones turn up as taxis and Brotherwood type wheelchair conversions. Quite like the Expert myself.

Apologies if this is stating the obvious, but having had a quick look at the Ford website, the Tourneo Connect is a Connect with seats in the back.

Now in a previous life I was the fleet manager for a 100-van fleet. Previously we had run Escort, Astra & Combi vans, alongside full-size Transits. When the Connect came out we took the decision to replace some Escorts and Astravans with the LWB hi-roof LX spec. The guys who got them thought they were pretty impressive, and having driven them myself I must agree. With comfy seats and a decent spec they were certainly the best small van I have driven.

Fuel wise, they were pretty good delivering somewhere around 35mpg with a ladder on the roof from what I can recall....

Hope this helps!
