I have a Roland Garros bought new last June and here in Guernsey with low speed limits it spends considerable time in second gear.

In this gear lifting off the accelerator to slow generates a considerable thump and reapplying the accelerator causes another thump, giving the impression of backlash in the transmission.

After an exchange of seven letters and several months Peugeot now say that the "operation of the gear box compares with any other 206".

I suspect that the problem lies with the electronics controlling the slow running as I had a similar problem with a Volvo which Volvo said was normal but the local agent cured.

Has anyone had a similar problem and had it fixed?
