Renault Clio - car insurance for car bought in France - sonett97

We have bought a car in France and want to drive it back to UK from the south of France. Only problem is we can't see how to get insurance for this. Once in UK we can get chassis number insurance to drive it here whilst waiting for it to be registered in UK. But can we get insurance for the first stage of the journey.

Would be so helpful for any info on this.

Two possibilities exist assuming you do not have an address in France ie a holiday cottage etc.

First - try Anglo Agence Dinan website www.bml.fr/

They speak english - some of them are english.

I have some insurance with them and they are ok-but be aware that car insurance is more expensive in france than the UK.

Any French insurance should be legal to drive the car in the uk but get this confirmed in writing.

I got temporary insurance from a french company to drive a UK registered car back from the UK to France.

The other possibilty is Stuart Collins insurance in the UK-they seem to be able to insure just about anything.
