Interesting 6-minute video here of the fastest street-legal car in America, a turbo big-block Camaro. 615 cubic inches, 2150bhp at the wheels, and it ran sub-7 second passes for 5 consecutive days in Hot Rod Magazine's 'Drag Week' competition, in which the cars must compete at a different drag strip every day, and have to drive (not be trailered) between them (1000 miles total over the 5 days).

Not only did it run 6.72 seconds at 217mph, it's also capable of 11 miles per (US) gallon on the highway.
