Vauxhall Meriva - vauxhall meriva 06 1.7 heater not working - penguin

Hi all, I have an 06 1.7 meriva. The heater isn't working, I leave it running for at least 15/20 mins in the morning to demist and when I get I the car it's barely warm, I then drive 5 miles to work and it still doesn't, get warm. Anybody have any ideas? Many thanks

What is the water temperature gauge showing, if its running low it will probably be the thermostat.

Thanks. It was reading low temp the other morning but tonight when I went out it was reading normal and the heater was warm, not straight away though id been driving for around half hour then parked for an hour and within 10 mins of driving it was warm.
