Can you help, please.

Within 1 to 5 miles of starting 1st journey of the day, gearbox suddenly, and with a jolt, changes gear to (I think) 3rd gear.. Road speed usually around 35-45 mph.

Display shows "gearbox fault", then "electronic fault".

Switching ignition off for a few seconds & then on again clears the fault. Generally fault will not occur again on that day..

I once, when doing around 60-70 mph, saw the "gearbox fault" message appear but nothing happened until I slowed down. Then probably around 50 mph the 'box suddenly changed with a sharp jolt down to 3rd gear.

Otherwise gear changes are smooth and at "sensible" speeds.

I've tried excercising the 3 multi-way connectors to the ECU with no success.
