Volkswagen Golf - Remote central locking - VWGolfDriver
Hi there I’m new on here hope you are all well I own a 2002 vw golf S but it hasn’t got any remote central locking does anyone know a place I can get it fitted and what the costs might be I googled it but. Can’t find anywhere in Nottingham where I live that offers this service even the main dealers who I would avoid like the plague can’t help me any help would be appreciated thanks

Does it have any central locking fitted worked by key in the door?

Yes it has central locking installed and the key will lock and unlock all 4 doors and the boot I only want the remote option for convenience as it’s a bit of a pain if you have your hands full and have to manually open the doors or boot

The only cost effective way to do it would be to use a universal remote lock kit . Cheap and easily available. Will need to be fitted by a competent tech as it requires wiring inside driver door .

I saw some kits on eBay can anyone recommend any good ones I’m no good with wiring so I’m guessing I will need to find a competent auto electrician to do it

They are all very much the same . On eBay from around £12 ish .
