Our Renault Scenic has developed a turbo fault - is it worth repairing it?

We own a 2004 Renault Scenic. We have had it for under a year and already spent quite a bit on it. We had a engine rebuild at the end of last year trying to find a fault which cost £900, bought two new card keys and a couple of weeks ago took it to Renault garage because of a noise, and bought two new tyres and paid for the fan to be fixed twice. We were told the noise was the fan but it persisted until breaking down a few days ago. We got towed back to the garage to be told that the noise is in fact the turbo which has failed. They have quoted around £1000 to repair, which at this point puts us in a dilemma where we have spent quite a bit but don't want to keep piling money we can’t afford into it. Is there anywhere else that could do that job for less or would you recommend trying to sell as spares or repairs?

Unfortunately, this car has come to the end of its life and you are faced with mounting expense. There isn't a cheap alternative to replacing the turbo, and once that's fixed you could face further costs repairing other problems. In my opinion the car is now an economic write off.
