good design and aspiration ruined by build quality and poor MPG

Chose this car as a good 'allrounder' for economy, load carrying, safety features & up to date styling. However it has turned out to be a nightmare with Volvo assistance having to be called out 3 times in the first 8500 miles. First time to attach an earth lead not fitted correctly, second time to attach main fuel line which had become detached, dumping diesel all over my drive and the third time to collect it on a flatbed truck because of total clutch failure. The plus points are great seats (R design) and great motorway cruiser but the average fuel consumption of 44mpg is very bad for a car with start stop technology and claims of 65mpg by Volvo. The so called super economy e-drive is no better than my previous Audi A4 1.9Tdi which has an engine thats been around over 20years without start stop technology ! Back to Audi I think.
