Son wants a Golf?

My 24-year-old son wants to upgrade his old Clio to a VW Golf and spend around £6k.

It's the old story of buying a car that gives him a bit of street cred and not a middle aged car(I tried to estoll the virtues of the Focus). He would be happy with a 1.6FSI.

I would be grateful of any comments you may have or advice of any other suitable models.

If he's a Golf freak and believes in the myth then he won't be shifted. The 1.6FSI is a bad engine. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/volkswagen/golf-v-20.../
