Buying a new/nearly new diesel car for a long commute?

I want to buy a more fuel efficient car, as I have a long commute to work of 350 miles per week. I am thinking of a diesel, with a reasonable engine size. I was wondering about the Peugeot Oxygo/Economique or the Citroen DS3 e-diesel. What do you think, and do you have any other suggestions? My budget is approx. £12-15k.

Never heard of a Peugeot Oxygo. The DS3 is nice, biut best with the THP 150/156 petrol engine and 6 speed box. Still gives 45mpg.
