Second hand Audis

I want to buy a five-year-old manual Audi A6 2.0-litre diesel and wish to keep it for five years. I have heard that there are reliability problems with the engine. Is this true and if so would i better to buy the 2.7-litre engine?

Yes. In particular, oil pump problems. Far better a BMW 520d. Or even an MB E220CDI.
