Dealer used the wrong fuel

I have bought a used 206SW 1.4 HDi. On the drive home (20 miles) I felt that the engine was misfiring, but power seemed to be reasonable. On getting home wondering what might have caused this I sniffed the fuel tank and smelt petrol.

I am discussing with the garage tomorrow the way forward. Would you risk keeping the car after they have drained fuel line etc? Or is the damage likely to be too great, even if it runs OK in the short term?

If you can prove that any petrol was put in the car then back it straight away. That hesitation was the fuel injection pump starting to seize up.
