DSG issues

Recently ordered a car and quoted 13 week delivery on 29/03/11.

Informed today that the build date is to be mid August with delivery mid September, due to DSG problems.

Whilst I am aware of the DSG issues and would clearly like to have them resolved, is the delay genuine or did the dealer know the delay would be longer at the time of order?

I actually wanted a Tiguan but was quoted an October delivery, how do I stand if I cancelled the order with £500 deposit paid?

My BMW extended warranty runs out at the end of May hence my desire to change by then.

Other readers are informing me of a DSG software reprogramming, so yes, there was a problem and yes, it is being dealt with. In my experience, VW policy is never to admit to something like this, though.
