Is high mileage a problem?

I am on the look-out for a W211 E-class with seven seats, and I have found one (2007/57) with FMBSH.

It has 169k miles (E220 CDi Classic, Auto/Tip Estate).

Is such high mileage a cause for concern? Can you advise on anything before embarking on this purchase (the garage is looking for £8975).

The fact that it has got to this sort of mileage means it cannot have been a particularly unreliable car. The price reflects the mileage. See car by car entry for what goes wrong with these.
